Elementary Instructional Assistant

Description

We are a public school corporation that hires high school students interested in a teaching career to assist in the classroom during the school day. The intern will be mentored by classroom teachers and supervised by the principal, Brian Wesson, who will evaluate them. The goal is for the intern to experience classroom duties.

Responsibilities

The students will work in the elementary school with a classroom teacher assiting with different tasks as needs. On the job training will include; small group instruction, behavior management, guided reading, differentiated instruction, learning styples, building relationships, time management, and proper staff interactions. 

Qualifications

The students should have an interest in the teaching field and then will be interviewed and chosen based on their grades, extra-curricular activites, other work experiences, and community service.
