Video Intern

WL Grace Church, established over 80 years ago in Winona Lake, Indiana, is a multi-generational church whose mission is to Love Our Neighbors to Jesus, Follow Jesus Together, and Equip Leaders for the World. For many years, our internship program has primarily focused on Youth Ministry, but in the past two years has expanded to include Worship, Worship Tech, and Kids Ministry.

This internship will be supervised by Steve Divine, Worship Services Coordinator, who will provide direct training, instruction, and mentorship. Interns will gain hands-on experience in both studio and live video production, learning practical skills in technology, communication, and teamwork within a ministry context.

Learning Goals for Interns:

• Develop technical skills in video production, editing, audio, and live streaming within a church context

• Gain experience collaborating on a creative team in both planning and execution of worship services

• Understand how media and technology serve the church’s mission and engage the congregation

• Grow in professionalism, problem-solving, and communication through mentorship and hands-on projects

• Build confidence in using media as a tool for ministry and storytelling

 

Responsibilities

Hours will be split between studio based and live video production
• Setup/shoot/edit interviews for WL Grace ministries
• Periodic participation in weekend services switching, operating cameras, and mixing live audio, and helping to codify live video/streaming procedures and standards
• Creation of bumper videos
• Attend appropriate Service Planning meetings
• Participation as part of a weekend service tech team
• B-Roll capture of events and ministries
• Participation in the development of WL Podcasting

Qualifications

• Desire and ability to serve and grow in a team environment
• Ability to work independently (with appropriate guidance as needed)
• Knowledge of Canon Cameras, Mac Computers, and editing with Final Cut Pro
• Other training can be provided as needed
