Description
The intern will be supervised by the technology department at Salem Community Schools and will report directly to the Dir of IT. Those selected will receive cybersecurity and CompTIA+ Core 1 and Core 2 training through UDEMY. Interns will be trained on common tasks and assigned projects using those skills to complete. Tasks will be monitored by technology department staff until proficiency has been met. Once proficient, interns should be able to train others on the assigned tasks. By the end of Year 1, interns will present a technology training at a teacher PLC and should be able to pass the CompTIA A+ Core 1 exam.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of our interns is chromebook repair and maintenance. They will use our work ticketing system, create and maintain SOP documents for common repairs / processes, collaborate with the team and create training videos/graphics/documents for teachers, staff and future interns, run diagnostics and troubleshoot/diagnose/repair common Chromebook issues, re-install Chrome OS. Interns will also troubleshoot and/or train staff in use of their laptop docking stations, install/update Windows operating systems, use Google and Microsoft Office applications, create and repair ethernet cables, use wifi analyzer tools, assist in running network cabling, and assist in corporation technology project completions.
Qualifications
Applicants should be a junior or senior who is interested in the computer science field and must be enrolled in or have completed at least one high school credit computer science course. Those who apply must not have any technology related discipline issues in high school. Student should have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
