Description
The East Central Educational Service Center (ECESC) is seeking a motivated and creative intern to support our . This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students while gaining hands-on experience in educational innovation, event planning, and collaboration. The initiative by ECESC is designed to empower students through career-connected learning experiences. By leveraging the , the program assists students in identifying their interests and aligning them with potential career paths. The initiative encompasses student and educator experiences, a mobile unit for on-site engagements, and a podcast series highlighting innovative educational practices. Responsibilities of the intern will focus on the at Sunnyside Education Center in New Castle, IN. Specifically, the interns will be working hands-on with students in grades 4-8 participating in our Student Experiences and other events (Family Nights, Career Fairs, etc) as available. The interns will be supervised, trained, and mentored by an Instructional Specialist and two Regional Career Coaches.
1) Develop the ability to plan, organize, and facilitate engaging, career-conneted learning events for students in grades 4-8.
3) Gain experience in collecting, organizing, and analyzing student participation and feedback data to inform program improvement.
4) Apply creativity and innovation to promote the Forge Your Future initiative through marketing and communication materials.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing events, including interactive career coaching activities.
- Support communication efforts with schools, businesses, and community partners (email outreach, scheduling, follow-up).
- Help collect and organize student feedback and participation data.
- Develop promotional and informational materials (flyers, social media posts, newsletters).
- Provide on-site support during student events (activity facilitation).
- Participate in team meetings and provide input on program strategies and improvements.
- Contribute to internal team projects related to school partnerships, community partnerships,career-connected learning, and educator support.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support ECESC’s mission.
Qualifications
- Current college student or recent graduate (preferred areas of study: education, communication, business, marketing, or public service) with minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Embody ECESC core values of service, support, collaboration, joy, and stewardship
- Reliable transportation to Sunnyside Education Center.
