The Southeastern Indiana YMCA is looking for an indivudal that plans to pursue Early Childhood Education.

Responsibilities

 

Principal Responsibilities

Deliver educational activities, providing targeted support to individual students and small groups.  This includes helping to clarify instructions, reinforce learning objectives, and engage children in hands-on activities helping to clarify concepts, and promoting critical thinking skills. This role is essential in creating an inclusive environment that meets diverse learning needs, fostering confidence and enthusiasm for learning. Maintain a positive and orderly environment by helping to enforce rules and routines. Monitor children's behavior, ensuring a safe and respectful atmosphere.  A vigilant and proactive approach will help minimize disruptions and promote cooperative interactions among children, contributing to a productive learning space. Prepare and organize instructional materials, supplies, and resources.  Maintain accurate records of attendance and performance.

Qualifications

Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• 6 months prior experience with supervising/babysitting children required.
• This position requires continuous attention and alertness in caring for the children.
• Must be able to express and communicate effectively to children and adults.
• Position requires light physical effort in lifting, stooping, kneeling or crouching.
• Successful completion of background check; Adult & Pediatric CPR/First Aid/AED certification within 30 days of hire and then maintained throughout employment.
