Description
Rose City Bowl Incorporated is seeking a creative, motivated Marketing Intern (or small student team) to help grow our business through strategic, hands-on marketing initiatives. This is a paid internship, offering real-world experience in small business marketing, brand building, and customer engagement within a fun, guest-focused entertainment environment.
The internship is designed to provide meaningful responsibility, portfolio-worthy work, and leadership development while directly contributing to business growth.
• Hours: Up to 20 hours per week during school year, up to 40 hours per week during summer.
• Compensation: Hourly pay, commensurate with skill level
• Location: Hybrid (some off-site work permitted; on-site presence required)
• Reporting To: Business Owner
The Marketing Intern will help Rose City Bowl:
• Strengthen brand awareness and guest engagement
• Build and organize customer contact and social media databases
• Increase repeat visits through targeted outreach and consistent communication
• Enhance the in-center guest experience through creative internal marketing
Responsibilities
The intern (or intern team) will be responsible for the following:
Marketing & Creative Development
• Create marketing materials designed to grow the business, including digital and print assets
• Design birthday party marketing materials such as:
o Flyers
o Internal TV monitor advertisements
o Social media posts
• Develop internal marketing graphics and programs to promote:
o Events
o Products
o Specials
o Overall fun atmosphere within the bowling center
Digital Marketing & Communications
• Write and send weekly customer email communications using the existing email database to:
o Keep Rose City Bowl top of mind
o Promote events, specials, and parties
o Drive return visits
• Regularly post engaging content to Facebook and Instagram
• Grow and organize our social media audience and engagement metrics
Customer Data & Outreach Systems
• Create systems to effectively capture guest contact information
• Develop and manage a structured customer database
• Segment customer lists to allow targeted outreach based on:
o Customer interests
o Visit type (parties, leagues, casual play, etc.)
o Geography or market segment
• Create effective outreach programs targeting specific geographic areas and customer segments
Operational Support & Training
• Train staff on how to take quality photos and snapshots for social media when the intern is not on-site
• Provide simple guidelines to ensure consistent and effective social media-ready images
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must:
• Be creative and enthusiastic about marketing
• Be self-motivated and capable of working independently
• Have completed at least two years of collegiate study
• Have successfully completed marketing-related coursework
• Possess strong graphic design skills
• Have hands-on social media knowledge and experience, particularly with Facebook and Instagram
• Have basic photography skills suitable for social media content
o Use of original photos is strongly preferred
o Heavy reliance on clip art is discouraged
