Position Summary:
The Kids’ Lead is a collaborative leader responsible for guiding Gateway’s activities for children (Infant through 5th grade). This person will manage volunteers while using their time to serve the community. Success in this role is measured by the ability to lead, and sustain a volunteer team, engage children, and ensure activities are well-executed and meaningful.  This role balances hands-on kids’ activities with administrative oversight, helping families connect to the church and grow in Christ-centered faith.

Responsibilities

Volunteer & Program Management

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteers for Sunday programs and events.
  • Oversee kids’ activities that ensure safety, safe sanctuary policy, and processes are being followed.
  • Plan a 12 monthly rolling calendar for two kid groups (Preschool-K and 1st-5th Grade).

Spiritual Development & Pastoral Care

  • Plan age-appropriate activities and lessons that foster spiritual growth in children.
  • Provide encouragement to parents and children in their life journey.

Preschool Integration & Connection

  • Participate in preschool events and special functions to build relationships.
  • Help integrate preschool families into the broader church community.

Community Engagement & Outreach

  • Identify and implement community service projects suitable for children.
  • Develop partnerships and networks within the community to strengthen church connections.
  • Contribute to church communication channels, including newsletters, website content, and social media.

Congregational Culture & Team Collaboration

  • Encourage families to be intentional about loving their neighbors.
  • Serve as an active member of the church staff team.
  • Cultivate an environment of friendship, inclusion, and engagement with the whole congregation.

Qualifications

  • Model Christian faith inside and outside the church community.
  • Leadership experience, preferably in church, education, or volunteer management.
  • Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience with current PC systems (Microsoft Office Suite) and social networking platforms.
