In addition to in-spa services, we place a strong emphasis on marketing, client retention, and brand growth through social media, email campaigns, and community engagement.
Our internship program is designed to provide a well-rounded, hands-on experience in both marketing and day-to-day business operations. The intern will work closely with the spa owner and management team, receiving direct supervision and consistent feedback. Training will begin with an onboarding period where the intern will learn about our services, brand voice, client experience expectations, and the platforms we use for marketing and scheduling. Ongoing mentorship will include weekly check-ins, project-based guidance, and real-time coaching, especially as the intern takes on responsibilities like content creation, email marketing, and assisting with front desk operations.
Throughout the internship, the student will gain practical experience in creating and executing marketing strategies, including social media planning, promotional campaigns, and basic advertising concepts. They will also develop professional communication skills through client interactions such as answering phone calls, booking appointments, and managing check-ins and check-outs.
Our goal is for the intern to leave with a stronger understanding of how a small business operates, confidence in both digital marketing and client-facing roles, and a portfolio of real work they contributed to. We aim to help them build skills in creativity, organization, time management, and professional communication, while also giving them insight into the beauty and wellness industry as a whole.
Responsibilities
This internship is structured to give the student meaningful, hands-on experience in marketing and business development, with a strong focus on creative and strategic work rather than routine administrative tasks.
The intern will primarily work on marketing-related projects, including planning and creating social media content (photo/video, captions, and scheduling), assisting in the development of email marketing campaigns, and contributing ideas for promotions and seasonal campaigns. They will also have the opportunity to help analyze engagement and performance metrics to better understand what strategies are effective and how to adjust future content. Additional projects may include researching local competitors, identifying trends in the beauty industry, and assisting in the planning of advertising initiatives.
To provide a well-rounded understanding of the business, the intern will also spend some time observing and supporting front desk operations, such as greeting clients, answering phones, and assisting with check-ins and check-outs. However, these responsibilities are intended to supplement their learning and provide context for the client experience, rather than serve as their primary role. Administrative and routine tasks will make up a small portion of the internship and will not exceed 25% of their overall responsibilities.
Overall, this role is designed to be project-based and educational, allowing the intern to actively contribute ideas, build a portfolio of marketing work, and gain real-world experience in both creative strategy and client experience within a growing small business.
Qualifications
We are looking for a motivated and dependable student who has a genuine interest in marketing, social media, and the beauty/wellness industry. This internship is intended as a learning experience, so prior professional experience is not required.
Ideal candidates should have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and feel comfortable interacting in a client-facing environment. A basic understanding of social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok is helpful, along with an interest in content creation, trends, and branding. Creativity, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are key qualities for success in this role.
The intern should be organized, able to manage time effectively, and open to feedback and guidance. Reliability and a positive, professional attitude are important, especially when assisting with client interactions and supporting daily operations.
