Description

ROI Search Group is seeking a driven and outgoing college student to join our team as a Sales & Business Development Intern. This is a high-impact, hands-on opportunity focused primarily on sales, cold calling, and client outreach within a boutique recruiting firm.

In this role, you will learn how to identify potential clients, conduct outreach through cold calling and email, and support lead generation efforts. This is not a passive internship, you will play an active role in helping grow the business by identifying prospects, initiating conversations, and generating new client opportunities. You will gain real world experience while working alongside an experienced team.

This role requires confidence, persistence, and a willingness to pick up the phone and engage with professionals across industries. The position is 2 days per week in-office, providing direct exposure, coaching, and real-time feedback.

Responsibilities

Sales & Cold Calling (Primary Focus)

  • Make outbound cold calls to introduce ROI Search Group and generate interest with potential clients
  • Deliver clear, confident messaging and handle objections professionally
  • Build a pipeline of prospective clients through consistent outreach efforts
  • Follow-up with leads to maintain engagement and move opportunities forward

 Prospecting & Lead Generation

  • Identify companies and key decision-makers aligned with our services to companies with jobs in Accounting & Finance, IT, and legal
  • Research industries such as accounting & finance, legal, and technology to understand hiring needs
  • Build targeted outreach lists and maintain an organized prospect pipeline
  • Research and attend any relevant trade shows and events
  • Develop a list of local events to attend throughout the year for ROI Search Group

 Email & LinkedIn Outreach

  • Draft and send personalized outreach emails to prospective clients
  • Use LinkedIn to connect with decision-makers and initiate conversations
  • Support multi-channel outreach strategies to drive engagement

 Data & Activity Tracking

  • Track all outreach activity, calls, and responses along with entering resumes in our CRM/ATS system
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date records
  • Learn how to evaluate outreach performance and improve results over time

Team Collaboration & Learning

  • Work closely with recruiters and business development leaders
  • Participate in team meetings and sales strategy discussions
  • Meeting with marketing strategy consultant and leverage collateral
  • Gain exposure to client conversations, hiring trends, and market insights

Qualifications

  • Current college student (Business, Marketing, Communications, Healthcare Management, or related field preferred)
  • Strong interest in business development, sales, or recruiting
  • Comfortable with high-volume cold calling and phone-based outreach
  • Confident communicator with a professional and outgoing demeanor
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and not afraid of rejection
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and get feedback
