Description

  • The Patachou Foundation's Food Fellowship is a dynamic, paid summer career-training program designed for high school students residing in Marion County, Indianapolis. We offer a comprehensive learning experience encompassing various facets of the food industry, including culinary arts, hospitality, urban farming, and financial literacy. By participating in our fellowship, students gain invaluable hands-on experience and develop transferable skills that pave the way for diverse career opportunities in the food sector.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage in hands-on training sessions led by industry experts.
  • Cultivate skills in urban farming, culinary arts, and hospitality.
  • Participate in financial literacy workshops to develop essential money management skills.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and contribute positively to team dynamics.
  • Attend college and career readiness counseling sessions for personalized guidance.
  • Complete work-based learning assignments to earn high school and college credits.

Qualifications

ELIGIBILITY

  • High school student enrolled in Marion County, Indianapolis.
  • Eligible for employment in Indiana.
  • Commitment to the Fellowship schedule, including orientation, fellowship duration (Monday to Friday), and celebration dinner.
  • Optional participation in a one-week internship following the fellowship.
  • Dedication to graduating from high school.
  • Willingness to adhere to the no-cell-phone policy during fellowship activities.
  • Commitment to follow-up meetings after Food Fellowship graduation
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs without assistance
  • Ability to work extended hours on feet
