Digital Systems & Website Migration Intern
Description
Fired Arts Studio is a locally owned creative arts studio in downtown Kokomo, Indiana, offering paint-your-own pottery, canvas painting, workshops, and private events.
The Digital Systems & Website Migration Intern will work directly with the studio owner and receive ongoing supervision, project guidance, technical training, and mentorship throughout the internship. The learner will receive hands-on instruction and feedback while completing assigned project milestones and will be encouraged to research, problem-solve, test solutions, and document their work.
Learning goals include developing practical skills in website migration, Wix website development, digital analytics and tracking, SEO, Google Workspace implementation, online scheduling systems, troubleshooting, and digital business systems. By the end of the internship, the learner will have completed a real-world technology project and developed documentation that demonstrates their technical skills and ability to implement technology solutions for a small business.
Responsibilities
The learner will work on a project-based digital systems modernization initiative for Fired Arts Studio. Projects will include auditing the existing website and digital assets; developing and implementing a migration plan to a new Wix website; preserving SEO, analytics, tracking, code, redirects, and other existing digital functionality; testing the new website across devices; and documenting the migration process.
The learner will also assist with configuring Google Workspace, establishing appropriate cloud-based file and calendar structures, and researching and implementing an online scheduling system that integrates with the studio's business needs.
Responsibilities will emphasize technical research, problem-solving, website development, digital systems implementation, testing, documentation, and user experience rather than routine administrative duties. The learner will be responsible for completing project milestones under the supervision and mentorship of the studio owner and will gain experience applying technology skills to a real-world small-business environment.
