Favian’s Farewell to Indiana INTERNnet

Goodbye Indiana INTERNnet,

As my spring internship wraps up with Indiana INTERNnet there are many things, I’m grateful for and look forward to! I’m thankful that the Indiana INTERNnet team took a chance on me to be part of the team for the spring. During my time here I had great overall experience being part of the team and working with them. I was able to accomplish many things during my time and tried new things out. There are many wonderful people I met throughout my time here and have made great connections. I learned what it was like to be in a professional environment and how to interact with others. I can now say I know what it feels like to work a nine-to-five.

This internship helped me gain many valuable skills that will help transition into the professional world without a problem. I …

A Lesson on Personal Branding

Hattie Hynes is a Recruiting/HR Marketing Intern with Milliner & Associates. She will graduate from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business in 2019.

Through my internship with Milliner & Associates, I’ve had the opportunity to go to many networking events. The exposure I’ve received in the “big little town” of Indianapolis has been instrumental in developing my professional self and making connections with influential people.

Keep Calm and Intern

Hattie Hynes is a Recruiting/HR Marketing Intern with Milliner & Associates. She will graduate from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business in 2018.

What grade do I need to get on the midterm in order to get an A in the class?

How much sleep do I really need tonight?

I can’t wait for summer break

Which classes do I need to take in the fall?

Should I change my major?

I need four hours of sleep to function.

Wait
what am I going to do over the summer? Classes? Internship? Work in *shudders* retail?

If you’ve thought any or all of these things in the past few weeks, you’re probably in the same situation as I am. My hope is that by the time you finish reading this, you’ll be a bit calmer and less frantic about the future.

Where do you want to be in 5 years?

From Yard to Office

Johnny Slivka is an HR/Business Development Intern with Milliner & Associates. He will graduate from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business this year.

Following my senior year in high school, as some may say, I entered the real world. The first Saturday of the summer is where it all started.

My first day of work – not sports, not school – but real work. On this day instead of strapping up my cleats or tying my shoe laces, I was lacing up my boots and was ready to get after it. I was working as part of an installation crew planting trees. Some may not understand the process of planting a tree, but it’s very hard work. From digging the hole to moving the tree to cleaning up, it is all physically demanding.

Fast forward four years later and every day I can I’m lacing up my boots …
