Police internship provides exhilarating experience

I am currently interning with the Sullivan Police Station and could not have asked to be placed in a better internship. I have had nothing but a great experience there and would recommend this internship to students.
Going into this internship I had no idea what to expect because I have never worked with police officers. I have also appreciated police officers because of what they try and do to keep society safe from danger. There is no better way of knowing what goes into the daily life of an officer than by riding along with one. A couple times a week I go down to the station and do ride-alongs to gain first-hand experience.

An internship to explore âPlan Bâ
This is a guest blog by Jenette Seal, a student at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC). She is finishing a major in Pre-Veterinary/Pre-Professional major. This past semester, she was an intern for SMWCâs undergraduate genetics class.
My internship was not a typical experience.
Many people take an internship to get a better idea of the career field they are interested in and gain firsthand knowledge doing the daily tasks associated with a given job. This was not my motivation, however.
My career goal is to attend veterinary school and either practice medicine or conduct research, both sides of veterinary medicine with which I am already familiar and experienced. My back-up plan, however, was to enroll in a graduate program for genetics if vet school didnât pan out. I have an interest in genetics and decided if Plan A (vet school) didnât work, I would pursue Plan B, being a geneticist.

Internship Experience at Native American Museum Confirms Career Interests
Heather is a senior humanities major in the honors program with minors in French and history at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. She a member of Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society and holds the position of editor-in-chief of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods’ literary arts magazine publication, Aurora. In her free time, she volunteers with the White Violet Center for Eco-Justice, a ministry of the Sisters of Providence.
This fall semester I interned at the Native American Museum at Dobbs Park in Terre Haute, IN. The museum is run by the Terre Haute Parks Department because it resides on park property. Nestled in the woods, the Native American Museum serves the Terre Haute area through community education on the culture and history of the native peoples of North America, particularly on the peoples of the Woodlands and the Great Lakes regions.

A horse lover from birth, I was thrilled to see the posting last winter for a virtual internship with the Indiana Horse Council. Iâm an Indianapolis resident, but I was not quite sure how I would have managed a full-time job with an in-house internship. A “Mental Health” Internship – Challenging, Unique, Fulfilling

For many of you, a behavior health clinic is not something with which you are familiar, so first, let me share my perspective on my internship environment. The IU Health Bloomington Hospital Behavioral Health Unit is an acute care facility that services Central and Southern Indiana. The Behavioral Health Unit provides acute care to individuals who are experiencing crisis or extreme stress in their daily lives and who need a positive healing environment in which to recover their own stability. The Access Center of the Behavioral Health Unit addresses calls for admission made to the unit. The Access Counselors provide an initial assessment of the patientâs problem in order to identify the type of help that is needed. When a patient requires acute inpatient care, they …
