Self-Care for the end of the Semester

Right now, life is basically the prime example of ā€œtoo much to do and not enough time to do it.ā€ Classes are getting ready for finals, projects are due, and life has to fit somewhere in there. Not to make this all about me, but Iā€™m working a job on-campus, interning downtown, taking 18 credit hours, and planning a whole university formal, so things are pretty tough right now. I know I canā€™t be the only one dealing with a lot, so I came up with a list of things to do that help me relax or calm down when Iā€™m stressed. I should mention that these are things most people donā€™t think of or at least talk about so you can get some new self-care tips!

Spend the whole day doing nothing

Sometimes when things get really hectic, I like to plan at least one day during the weekend …

Self-Care Tips

Whether it’s work or school, everyone always has something on their mind. It’s important to take a step back once in a while, to regain focus and stay strong mentally and physically. Here are some of my best self-care tips.

Watch Some Movies/TV

While all this is going on, it can be easy to forget about the most important personā€¦YOU! So, to help you relax as you ease into fall, I made a list of helpful self-care tips.

Make sure to aside some time for yourself

Find some time, even if itā€™s only five minutes, in your busy schedule each day to focus on yourself. During that time, make sure that you are only doing things that bring you happiness. This mini-timeout can allow you to regroup and recharge before bouncing right back in to getting …

Donā€™t Become Stressed Out, Burnt Out and Cranky

On Wednesdays during the fall semester of my senior year of college, I would intern until 5 p.m., go to a night class until 9 p.m. and then do homework until 12 a.m. The other days of the week, I was either interning or in class. On the weekends, I worked part time at a department store.

I needed an internship for experience and to graduate. I needed to go to class to graduate. I needed a part-time job to pay to graduate. Plus, I had to do all of this while maintaining relationships my family and friends.

I remember scrolling through Twitter one night, seeing this graphic and thinking, ā€œYES! This is exactly how I feel!ā€

By October, I was stressed out, burnt out and cranky. When I would be at work or with my loved ones, I would be thinking about homework or my internship. I realized …
