Description

SJCPL’s Education and Programming department is seeking an enthusiastic team player to assist with community outreach efforts. The Programming Intern will work with the Adult Programming Specialist to provide quality and relevant programming to the community’s adult population.

Responsibilities

Once here you will: 

  • Prepare supplies for programming and outreach events. 
  • Support department staff. 
  • Work with community partners who provide engaging programming for Library patrons.
  • Meet and create relationships with community partners.
  • Need to be available for weekend and evening events. 
  • Complete a capstone project that helps us engage more authentically with our community.

Qualifications

Relevant experience: 

  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred. 
  • Comfortable using the Internet, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Windows and Mac OS. 
  • Community-minded. 
  • Exercise initiative, be enthusiastic, creative, flexible, energetic, value diversity, and possess a sense of humor. 
  • Ability to talk to large groups or have one on one conversations with a diverse audience. 
  • Comfortable with a flexible schedule that could change at a moment’s notice.

Experiencia relevante: 

  • Ser bilingüe (español) preferentemente. 
  • Estar cómodo usando Internet, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Windows y Mac OS. 
  • Mentalidad comunitaria. 
  • Ejercita la iniciativa, ser entusiasta, creativo, flexible, energético, valora la diversidad y posee un sentido de humor .
