Responsibilities

Fort Wayne Metals is a world-class manufacturer that aims to make lives better around the world, and as a Technology intern, you’ll play a key part in this mission.

You’ll have the opportunity to work in departments like Information Technology Development, Information Technology Business Analyst, and Business Intelligence. To start, your degree should be in Computer Science, Information Systems or a Technology-related area, and you should be interested in pursuing a career in technology.

If you like working with information technology systems, building, supporting, and securing information, this is the internship for you. As a Technology intern, you will work with internal departments to understand the structure of business data, how current systems are being used, and technology needs to recommend and validate technology solutions. We will need for you to supply accurate, timely and actionable information, along with maintaining the data warehouse, creating and editing queries and help with design and roll-out views and dashboards. Documentation is critical. You will code, process, and record technology needs and end-user functions to accurately record technology solutions.

Qualifications

What tools do you need to succeed in this role? For starters, you need to possess basic programming skills in a variety of languages, knowledge of web development standards and technologies, experience with relational databases, and knowledge of various business intelligence platforms and tools. Being a good communicator, spoken and written, is vital. We’ll also need for you to troubleshoot and create solutions along the way. What will also help is an ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, work independently, and in a group setting. You’ll also need to be a self-starter, results-driven, have a knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and an eye for detail.
