We are searching for a motivated and enthusiastic Construction Inspection Intern to join our dynamic team. As an intern, you will work closely with our experienced engineers on various projects including Road & Bridge Design, Water Resources, Construction Inspection, Land Survey, and Land Development. Responsibilities

  • Assist in collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from physical work sites, surveys, plans, blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and other sources for field inspection activities.
  • Help perform basic professional inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, equipment, construction, materials, controls, layout, alignment, and elevation to ensure compliance with applicable rules, standards, codes, and permits.
  • Support in verifying construction quantities, change orders, interpretation of contract plans and specifications, and escalate any differences, errors, or technical problems for resolution.
  • Generate complete, accurate, and concise documentation related to inspection findings to comply with client policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and organized work environment by following safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Construction Engineering & Management Technology (CEMT), Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related bachelor’s or master’s degree program.
  • General awareness of construction principles and field inspection practices.
  • Ability to take direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically about engineering challenges.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in work output.
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute in a collaborative team environment.
  • Previous internship experience or exposure to civil engineering projects is a plus.
