Community Outreach Inter
Description
Public Health Connect is a growing initiative committed to bridging students, professionals, and community organizations in pursuit of equitable public health outcomes across Indiana and beyond. Our work focuses on grant writing, strategic partnerships, corporate social responsibility, and community wellness programming—particularly for nonprofits serving vulnerable populations.
Our internship program is designed to provide hands-on experience in the nonprofit and public health sectors, particularly in the areas of outreach, partnership development, and grassroots engagement. The Community Outreach Intern will be supervised and mentored directly by the founder, Katharine Skirvin, and may also receive guidance from our administrative and grant interns. Interns will receive onboarding, project-specific training, and weekly check-ins to review progress, set goals, and reflect on learning.
Learning goals for the intern include:
-
Gaining confidence in outreach strategies, relationship-building, and nonprofit communications
-
Understanding how nonprofits operate and engage their communities
-
Learning how to align outreach initiatives with grant deliverables and public health priorities
-
