Summer Leasing Intern
Description
The internship will be supervised by experienced leasing agents and property managers who have collectively leased thousands of rental properties, ranging from apartment units to single-family homes. Interns will gain hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of property management while working alongside industry professionals.
Each intern will be paired with a dedicated leasing agent who will serve as their primary mentor throughout the program. Through this mentorship, interns will learn effective sales and customer service techniques, leasing strategies, tenant relations, property marketing, and the fundamentals of residential property management.
Responsibilities
Interns will participate in a structured learning experience designed to provide exposure to the property management and real estate leasing industry. Rather than performing primarily administrative tasks, interns will work alongside leasing agents to assist with property marketing, conduct market research, observe and participate in property showings, communicate with prospective tenants, learn tenant screening and application review processes, and assist in developing leasing and customer service strategies. Interns will also gain experience with property management software, learn about lease agreements and fair housing practices, and complete special projects related to occupancy, resident retention, and property operations. These responsibilities are intended to provide meaningful hands-on learning opportunities that build professional, sales, communication, and business management skills while giving interns a comprehensive understanding of residential property management.
