POSITION OVERVIEW

Peace Learning Center is an Indianapolis-based nonprofit organization whose programs center on social emotional learning, restorative practices, and community building for participants of all ages.


The Data & Administration Intern supports the systems that keep Peace Learning Center's programs running and accountable. This internship offers two tracks — Data Collection (systems and/or program evaluation) and Nonprofit Administration (finance, clerical, and office systems). Interns may choose to focus on one track or work across both.

Responsibilities

TRACK A: DATA COLLECTION & PROGRAM EVALUATION

Focus: building skills in data systems, evaluation methods, and reporting.

Responsibilities may include:

  1. Assisting with data entry, cleaning, and organization in evaluation systems or spreadsheets
  2. Supporting distribution and collection of program surveys and assessments
  3. Helping compile data summaries to support grant and funder reporting
  4. Assisting with maintenance of evaluation documentation and audit-readiness records
  5. Learning basic data visualization or reporting tools under staff supervision


TRACK B: NONPROFIT ADMINISTRATION

Focus: building skills in nonprofit finance support, office systems, and operations.

Responsibilities may include:

  1. Assisting with basic financial recordkeeping tasks under the supervision of finance staff
  2. Supporting office systems such as filing, scheduling, and document organization
  3. Helping maintain program and administrative records for accuracy and completeness
  4. Assisting with clerical support for staff and program logistics
  5. Learning nonprofit administrative processes (procurement, recordkeeping, compliance basics)


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Currently enrolled college student; major in data science, public administration, business, nonprofit management, or related field preferred
  2. Strong attention to detail and comfort working with spreadsheets/data entry
  3. Trustworthy with confidential information (financial and/or participant data)
  4. Organized and able to manage recurring administrative tasks
  5. Interest in nonprofit operations, evaluation, or data careers
  6. Must successfully complete a background check as a condition of employment, per Peace Learning Center policy.
