POSITION OVERVIEW
Peace Learning Center is an Indianapolis-based nonprofit organization whose programs center on social emotional learning, restorative practices, and community building for participants of all ages.
The Program Delivery Intern works directly on the delivery and development side of PLC's programming, with a focus on building and strengthening facilitation skills. This internship is well suited to students exploring careers that involve working in education, in a traditional or non-traditional capacity, as well as those interested in justice-related careers, community or social justice work, and youth development.
Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Co-facilitating or assisting with facilitation of PLC programs focused on community building, social emotional learning, and restorative practices
- Observing and learning facilitation techniques from experienced program staff
- Supporting program preparation, materials setup, and logistics for sessions
- Assisting with age-appropriate adaptation of activities across participant groups
- Supporting documentation of session outcomes and participation records
- Participating in staff debriefs and reflection on facilitation practice
- Note: During the Summer term, this internship focuses specifically on Peace Learning Center's summer camp programming.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled college student; major in education, social work, youth development, criminal justice, sociology, psychology, or related field preferred
- Comfortable engaging with groups of youth and/or adults in a facilitation or co-facilitation role
- Must be committed to creating inclusive,culturally sustaining, and respectful learning environments for all
- Open to collaborative workplace, with need to be flexible
- Interest in restorative practices, conflict resolution, or social emotional learning
- Reliable, adaptable, and comfortable working in school or community settings
- Must successfully complete a background check as a condition of employment, per Peace Learning Center policy.
