What We’re Thankful For

Since Thanksgiving is almost here, the Indiana INTERNnet team thinks on what they’re grateful for.

Kayla Walke, Intern: I am thankful for everyone here at Indiana INTERNnet. This has been the best place to start off my professional career. From the people I have met to the opportunities I have been exposed to, I am so incredibly grateful for this opportunity to be able to grow and learn in such an amazing atmosphere. To everyone at the Chamber and the whole INTERNnet team, thank you for the constant support, advice, and kindness throughout these past couple of months. From board meetings to events, I have been able to learn so much knowledge that is not taught in the classroom.

Angela Taylor, Program Assistant: Iā€™m thankful this year was full of change, good and bad, because with change comes growth. I love working with a team of fun, food-centric people. My …

Indiana INTERNnet Team: What We’re Thankful For

Now is the time when we start thinking about what we’re thankful for, and why. In this post, the Indiana INTERNnet team reflects on what we’re thankful for in our careers.

Allison Kuehr

I am thankful for my fantastic coworkers. Iā€™m fortunate to enjoy what I do, but Iā€™m even more fortunate to love the people I work with. During my time with Indiana INTERNnet, Iā€™ve made some great friends and mentors. Theyā€™re always there to celebrate achievements and birthdays, share a laugh or dish some advice. As Iā€™m still in the beginning stages of my career journey, itā€™s nice to have an amazing in-office support system guiding me and cheering me on along the way.

The Indiana INTERNnet Team is Thankful

In celebration of Thanksgiving, the Indiana INTERNnet team would like to share what we are thankful for in our careers.

Allison Gaffney

Iā€™m thankful for my internship experience at Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis. During those three months, I was surrounded by passionate coworkers who were willing to help me develop the skills I needed for success outside of the classroom. I was entrusted to take on large tasks like creating a social media campaign for Giving Tuesday. This gave me a lot of confidence in my work, and Iā€™ve been able to carry that over to my career with Indiana INTERNnet.

One thing I regret in my career is only doing one internship, however I am thankful that single experience transitioned to a full-time position. The opportunity has allowed me to further develop my skills and continually grow with Indiana …

Intern has many reasons to be thankful

Can you believe Thanksgiving has come and gone?

It seems like I interviewed for my internship with Milliner & Associates (M&A) just a few weeks ago; the time has passed quickly for me.

As the Fall season winds down, this is a great opportunity to contemplate all the things for which we can be thankful.

Here at M&A, we started celebrating Thanksgiving a week before the holiday. On November 19, our team had a pitch in, where everyone shared their homemade goods to show appreciation for each other. In order for our associates to spend a little extra time with family and enjoy the holiday, our office worked a half day on Nov. 25 and was closed the rest of the week. What a great opportunity for a family get-together!

Thankful Intern Shares Grateful Moments

The below freezing temperatures hint at the brewing winter and signal a string of holiday celebrations. Every November, Thanksgiving is celebrated in Indiana with only the juiciest of roasted turkeys and the sweetest of pumpkin pies. As family and friends gather around the table, a sense of gratefulness fills the air almost competing with the blend of nutmeg and cinnamon. I find myself reflecting on the internship opportunity I have enjoyed with Indiana INTERNnet.

Grateful for the chance to gain work experience: Graduating with my MBA right after college, I had no experience in marketing. For the past 6+ months, I have learned how to manage social media accounts, design print and web materials, analyze website metrics and write content. My marketing internship has not only expanded my skill set but also provided me with relevant work experience.

Grateful to be building my portfolio with skills-focused projects: …
