Request for Proposals: Business Liability Insurance Provider

The Institute seeks a qualified partner to assist Indiana employers by providing services to cover the liability insurance concerns related to under-18 workers participating in work-based learning. Employers have indicated that a limiting factor to participating in work-based learning or internship experiences in Indiana is the cost and prohibitive policies related to liability or worker's compensation for individuals under the age of 18. During the 2022 session of the Indiana General Assembly, the legislature passed legislation (House Enrolled Act 1094) seeking to procure a vendor, either through contract or MOU, who can assist employers in mitigating the liability concerns. The General Assembly specified that this process should be spearheaded by a statewide business organization (the Institute) in collaboration with the Indiana Department of Education.
