Description
Are you looking for an Engineering Internship with a chance to work with multiple disciplines and other global sites? Do you want to learn about the development of products, build prototypes, test, and analyze the results?
CTS has an opening for an Engineering Intern Student at any grade level, working with Electronics team on the Core Competency Team! CTS makes electronic linear and rotary sensors and mechatronics for global OEM and Tier 1 automotive customers including Cummins, DAF-PACCAR, Scania, Honda, Toyota, and many others!
You will support the design and development of magnetic and inductive sensor products working alongside full-time engineers. Interns will also support necessary requirement testing including electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) both in house and externally sourced when necessary. You will work with the local team in Elkhart, in addition to supporting CTS teams in Chicago, China and Mexico via email and TEAMs meetings.
The job is primarily on-site, and hours are flexible during the school year, typically with 15+ hours per week. During the summer, we offer 40 hours per week with standard working hours, and flexibility for some time off.

Responsibilities
During your time at CTS you will:
- Support of accelerator pedal module (APM) sensor products, as well as innovation projects
- Write EMC test plans and analyze EMC test reports
- Validation and verification of magnetic and inductive sensor design
- Develop a professional presence within a global team of engineers and technicians
- Develop problem solving skills when working in a dynamic, customer-focused environment
- Develop confidence and ability to make data-supported decisions within the scope of your responsibility
- Learn and apply technical skills related to magnetic, mechanical, electrical, embedded software, and electronics disciplines
Qualifications
Your qualifications:
- Must be pursuing a technical degree from an accredited institution.
- This role prefers Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, or Computer Science.
- Alternative engineering degrees (e.g. Industrial Engineering or Materials Engineering, Robotics Engineering) will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
- Must be able to work on-site for the majority of your hours
There is some flexibility for working from home, depending on the task and level of responsibility
