25-26: Engineering Inter, Accel Pedals
Description
Are you looking for an Engineering Internship with a chance to work with multiple disciplines and other global sites? Do you want to learn about development of products, build prototypes, test, and analyze the results?
CTS has an opening for an Engineering Intern Student at any grade level, working with the Accelerator Pedal Engineering team! For this role, this group prefers ME/MET or EE/EET degrees but is open to other majors.
CTS makes electronic accelerator pedals for cars for Honda, Toyota, VW, Isuzu, Subaru, Chrysler, and many vehicle manufacturers globally.
You will work with product design, product development, prototype builds, and testing of the systems. You will see injection molding, learn how to analyze returned parts, and solve problems using quality tools. You will work with our local team in Elkhart, as well as teams in China, Mexico and Europe via email and TEAMs meetings.
The job is primarily on-site, and hours are flexible during the school year, typically with 15+ hours per week. During the summer, we offer 40 hours per week with standard working hours, and flexibility for some time off.
Come join our team!
Responsibilities
As a team member, you will join our Design, Quality, Product, and Project Engineers and work closely with our prototype build department. You will start your internship learning the basics and finish your internship time with the ability to lead and manage full projects, fully doing the work of an Entry Level Engineer.
We will teach you how to perform testing in our Validation Lab, review and analyze data, conduct root cause analysis, write technical reports, and create successful presentations. You will join our existing teams and provide feedback, help create DFMEAs, work through root cause analysis, suggest design changes, and update drawings.
During your time at CTS you will:
- Develop a professional presence within a global team of engineers and technicians
- Develop problem solving skills when working in a dynamic, customer-focused environment
- Develop confidence and ability to make data-supported decisions within the scope of your responsibility
- Learn and apply technical skills related to magnetic, mechanical, electrical, embedded software, and electronics disciplines
Qualifications
- Must be pursuing a technical degree from an accredited institution.
- CTS prefers Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology.

- You must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
- You must be able to work on-site for the majority of your hours
- There is some flexibility for working from home, depending on the task and level of responsibility.
