Target Marketing is a marketing agency located in Terre Haute, Ind. They specialize in all aspects of marketing. They design flyers, ads, logos, websites and postcards, and they produce television and radio commercials. They create all of their designs and production in-house.
Throughout my internship experience, I have grown as a designer and a person. I have created ads and billboards for major companies, worked on websites, and I am in the process of learning production. I have learned how to meet deadlines and work with clients. I have also learned great communication skills, organization skills and how to transition from a college student to a professional in the work force.
During my time at Target Marketing, I have faced many challenges, but I have also experienced some wonderful times. I faced challenges with web design, time management and my level of confidence. With the help of online tutorials and my wonderful design professor, I conquered my web design fears. I have learned to meet deadlines and have gained the confidence I need to enter the professional world.
Designing billboards and flyers for major companies in Terre Haute and Clinton have been some of my biggest accomplishments. My confidence level has risen a great deal from this experience, and I feel that I could take on an interview with a major company and succeed in it.
The internship program was a fantastic experience. Being able to see first-hand what goes on in a professional environment was amazing. My internship gave me the confidence and the experience I needed to move forward with my career. Upon graduation I would not know what I would do with myself if I didn’t have the experience I got with my internship. I would be lost trying to figure out what to wear to job interviews or how I should act.
I would recommend that anyone who’s interested take advantage of this internship program. It truly is amazing, and it lets you get firsthand experience in your field. This program could help any student, whether they are an undecided major trying to figure out what they want to do or someone who knows exactly what that they want to do.
