Apprentice Machinist

Description

  Advanced Products Technology is a family owned and operated business that currently employees 7 highly skilled individuals. Owner/Supervisor is on site daily and provides instructions, direction and training direction. Training is completed by the owner along with experienced tool and die makers. Training will consist of learning and operating manual machines along with CNC driven machines. Cad and software programs will also be presented and trained according to APT standards. Goals will be to sustain a student that is self sustained and confident to perform tasks without assistance. Along with the main goal that APT is defined by, "Quality always Comes 1st"  

Responsibilities

  Students will learn proper operation of CNC Mills, Wire EDM, Wet Grinders. Along with various manual machines from Bridgeport mills, lathes, dry grinder, and Radial Drill press. Manual physical labor will be performed as well learning proper techniques to certain applications. Computer guided programming software will also be prioritized. Along with documentation of what was completed, how long and what type of machine/operation. Documents such as part prints will be explained and examined to instruct and teach students what is acceptable to the customers and APT standards. Proper reading of measuring instruments will be prioritized along with work ethic and teamwork. 

Qualifications

Qualifications require students to have some knowledge in the tooling manufacturing industry. Applicants will need good communication skills along with work ethic. Being a small high precision manufacturing company, teamwork and communication with other employees/supervisor is a high priority.
