Description

With us being a Personal Services Agency for the elderly, the whole internship is centered around our caregivers, clients, their families and our residents.  We provide non-medical caregivers in either a 1:1 environment in the client's home/facility or in one of our 3 dementia-care Story Cottages.  We have locations in Indianapolis, IN, Carmel, IN, Lafayette, IN, The Villages, FL and Punta Gorda, FL.  HR Interns will have access to all departments of our company.  They will be introduced to Accounting/Finance, Sales, Care Management, Client Coordination and Marketing/Communication/Event Planning.  Interns will learn how all the various departments work together to accomplish our mission of hiring exceptional people who deliver personalized service and consistent care to our clients/residents.

Our previous interns have developed many skills during their time with us.  They have strengthened their interviewing skills as a result of shadowing applicant interviews with our recruiters.  Our interns also develop stronger networking skills as a result of attending client meetings, job fairs and networking events with our staff members.  As a whole, their communication skills improve drastically, due to the daily phone, email and in person interaction that they have with our clients, caregivers, community partners, vendors, Executive Leadership and internal staff members.

Our interns spend designated mentoring time with our Director of Human Resources to learn about DISC and StrengthsFinder assessments, as well as other career development/career pathing objectives.  Interns are encouraged to discover and strengthen their "professional voice" during their time with us through the use of daily/weekly journaling about their internship experiences.
