Description
We are looking for students studying in the field of Graphic Design to join our Marketing Department's Graphic Designer Internship. The primary function of this internship is to learn how to work closely with marketing professionals to help design solutions to meet our clients' needs. Primarily, the chosen graphic designer will work on branding, digital marketing, print marketing, and social media marketing projects. These projects have included brochures, business cards, flyers, kiosk backboard designs, logos, social media posts, and occasionally website redesigns.
To be successful in this role, you should be up-to-date on current design trends and technologies; able to collaborate effectively with team members to achieve common goals; and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow as a designer.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Marketing team to understand and implement creative briefs.
- Illustrating concepts by designing examples of art arrangement, size, type size and style and submitting them for approval.
- Preparing finished designs by operating necessary equipment and software.
- Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed.
- Communicating with clients about layout and design.
- Maintain a strong work ethic and meet deadlines consistently.
- Communicating with customers and vendors.
- Ensuring that the facility remains clean, sanitary, and well organized.
- Offering assistance to other staff in the department during lulls in your day.
- Performing additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
- Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools, including Canva, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- A strong eye for visual composition.
- General understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Able to give and receive constructive criticism.
- Ability to work well under limited supervision.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
