Description
SJCPL’s Human Resources department is seeking an enthusiastic and detail oriented person to assist in employee engagement and community aligned recruitment efforts. As our intern you will gain experience working with an exceptional human resources team on projects that support the human experience at the library, both for internal employees and potential future employees.

This position is 40 hours per week and pays $15.30 per hour. Review of applications will begin March 16th and continue until the position is filled.
Responsibilities
Once here you will:
- Assist in the development and implementation of an employee engagement initiative.
- Help plan and host recruitment activities in the community.
- Work on a migration project with the library's internal website while keeping library staff involved and informed.
- Learn about and perform document retention tasks and recommend process improvements.
- Provide administration support to other members of the HR department, referring more complex issues to the relevant staff.
- Support department staff in daily operations.
Qualifications
- Valid drivers license
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Some education in human resources or business administration.
- Organizational skills
- Ability to understand and interpret data
- Comfortable using Internet, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Windows and Mac OS
- Community-minded and service oriented
- Exercise initiative, be enthusiastic, creative, flexible, energetic, value diversity, and possess a sense of humor
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
