Summer Teen Internship - LaSalle Branch Library

Description

The Library is in search of a friendly, enthusiastic, and imaginative high school student to engage with the library community through daily tasks, activities, and events.

If chosen for this internship, you will work  with library staff on daily library operations and activities that occur Monday through Friday. Interns will have the opportunity to learn more about the youth of the neighborhood while helping to provide fun and enriching activities for the community.

This internship is based at the newly renovated LaSalle Branch Library on the North West side of South Bend - 3232 W Ardmore Trail | South Bend, IN 46628.

Responsibilities

Once here you will:

• Plan and maintain library merchandising and book displays.
• Create and implement activities for library patrons that get them excited for Summer Reading.
• Assist patrons in using and enjoying library resources, including the library catalog.
• Shelve, Sort, and Shift books and other library resources.
• Assist with the library's signature events or other programming.

Qualifications

• Comfortable with computers and handheld devices (like phones and tablets).
• Community-minded.
• Take initiative, are enthusiastic, creative, flexible, energetic, values diversity, and have a sense of humor.
